  16.     The complete source code for all of the external functions (XFCNs) used in Free Text version 1.01 is supplied in the folder "Free Text Source Code" which accompanies this stack.  In version 1.0 of Free Text, I included the sources in this stack itself, but that made the stack be too big, I had to break up the sources into multiple cards, I had to change tabs to spaces, and the result was both inconvenience and unreliability (i.e., I inadvertently left out part of one of the files!)

  18.      External functions, if you don't already know, are code segments which define new HyperCard functions; they are stored as resources in the Free Text stacks.  I compiled my XFCNs using Think C version 4.01.
